Long-time Chelsea resident Petal Joseph-Seale dreamed of opening a restaurant in Chelsea. When a newly renovated restaurant space came on the market in her Chelsea neighborhood, Joseph-Seale jumped at the opportunity. Lime is her dream – a comfortably chic restaurant where Joseph-Seale artfully prepares familiar dishes in sophisticated ways.

A native of Trinidad, Joseph-Seale trained under renowned chef Jody Adams. Freshness and originality define her cooking. She insists on using local, seasonal ingredients, and seeks out women-owned vendors whenever possible. She freshly grinds her spices, makes the condiments from scratch, butchers the meat in-house, and even makes her own tofu. The result is Lime’s eclectic menu that blends global cuisines with Joseph-Seale’s vibrant Caribbean spice blends.

Nibble on Lime’s Asian marinated sweet and spicy soy wings. Seared salmon is accompanied by roasted Vietnamese sweet potatoes and a rich salsa verde. House-made seared tofu is topped with sauteed greens, roasted balsamic onions, mushrooms and sweet and sour carrots. After dinner, relax at the stunning marble bar to enjoy a craft cocktail. All the bar syrups are made in house.

A master baker, Joseph-Seale’s flavors satisfy and surprise. Lime’s Crème Brulee delights with infusions of rose and orange. Custom-designed cakes with fillings like prickly pear and blood orange curd are made from scratch and are available with advance notice.

For Petal Joseph-Seale, Lime is all about the food and giving something special to her diverse, beloved Chelsea neighborhood. She says, “I enjoy cooking and I enjoy people enjoying food.”
